Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PromptFluent extension work on Windows PCs?

Yes. The extension runs anywhere Chrome or Microsoft Edge runs — Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. The keyboard shortcuts use Ctrl+Shift+P and Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows and Linux, and the same combination on macOS, so there is nothing platform-specific to configure.

Which AI tools does it work with?

ChatGPT (chatgpt.com and chat.openai.com), Claude (claude.ai), Google Gemini (gemini.google.com), Microsoft Copilot (copilot.microsoft.com), and Perplexity (perplexity.ai). The command palette and prompt insertion work directly inside each of those sites.

Is it free?

The extension is free to install from the Chrome Web Store. It signs in with your existing PromptFluent account, so what you can access in the extension matches your plan on the web app.

Do I need a PromptFluent account?

Yes. The extension is a window into your PromptFluent library, so you sign in with your PromptFluent account the first time you open it. You can create a free account and start a 14-day Pro trial at promptfluent.com.

How do I open the command palette?

Press Ctrl+Shift+P on any supported AI site to open the command palette, search your library, and insert a prompt. Ctrl+Shift+L drops in your last used prompt without opening the palette.

Does it work in Microsoft Edge?

Yes. Edge is built on the same Chromium engine as Chrome and installs extensions from the Chrome Web Store, so the PromptFluent extension works the same way there.

Does the extension read what I type into ChatGPT or Claude?

The extension only runs on the supported AI sites listed above, and it inserts prompts into the message box for you. It doesn't monitor unrelated browsing — it activates on those AI tools to place your prompts where you need them.
